| The 17th Detroit Toy Soldier Show was a rousing success with over 1000 people in attendance. There they saw toy soldiers of every ilk and persuasion: old and new, traditional glossy and modern matte finish, Russian museum quality and bargain plastic figures all were to be found at 80 tables. In addition the Iron Brigade Milataria Show was in full swing across the hall with over 50 tables of historical collectibles. |

The rejuvenated and yet venerable Williams Brtains Company debuted their new catalog with dynamic figures from the American Civil War, Zulu War and more. Richard Walker greeted an enthusiastic public with all the pride and joy of a new father.
del Prado USA had its coming-out party with their first offerings from the new "Soldiers of the Civil War series"
The Old Northwest Trading Company showed their product line to be strong and vibrant with the premier of their first foray into World War I. Concentrating on the late war period and in particular the Meuse-Argonne Offensive, they showed impressive US Doughboys, French Poilus and German Stormtroopers along with a Renault FT-17 light tank.
From the traditional side of things TedToy showed new figures from Monarch. Buzz Thorp introduced handsome new sets of Hiriart Toy Soldiers.

In addition the Michigan Historical Miniatures Club held their Annual Michigan Historical Miniature Figure Show & Competition. This separate show featured displays of Historical Figures and Models from modelers and a judged competition.
And as usual the Kids Activity Area proved to be the biggest hit of the entire show with young and old alike painting figures and playing a new addition, Tank Tag brought to us by Kevin Mark of Miniature Motorways. |

Finally, the show was attended by many historical re-enactors in full costume. They are well appreciated by everyone especially the young ones who gasp in awe at the "real, live army-men!"
